Sweet sixteen birthday invitations are among my favorite projects to work on. Ahhh to be sweet sixteen again. Heck to be any younger age again. What I wouldn’t give for a time machine.
Living in San Diego for the last 13 years, I can’t remember any holiday for where we didn’t have nice weather. Being a Minnesota native, however, I understand cancellations and/or postponements because of inclement weather. But you make do and focus one the good!
Well, because of the “virus-who-shall-not-be-named”, we are feeling the wrath. You name it. Party plans, get togethers, holiday celebrations, ball games, beaches, everything. Everything is on the chopping block. Even sweet sixteen birthday invitations, unfortunately.
I created this invitation for a special girl and I see it as a glimmer of hope that things will get back to normal. We will have parties soon enough. I design and create invitations to be stuffed, stamped and sent off to partygoers. I need them to be, I am calling it.
So Emily, she is a kind, darling, amazing athlete and very sweet. Sweet sixteen doesn’t fit anyone better than it does Emily. She knew what she wanted and her mom emailed me with all of her ideas for a sweet sixteen birthday invitation. It was a lot but I took from it that her party was going to be a lot of sparkles, butterflies and would include lots and lots of sweets. I wish I could put that all in an invite. Just decorate it with cotton candy and sprinkles and mail it off as a glitter bomb. I can’t and that would be a lot, so we reined in the ideas. What came out of our conversations were lots of sparkles, fun girly fonts and colors and butterflies. Done. What transpired was so fun. She had a vision and we made it come to life.
Here’s to stuffing, stamping and sending these beauties!
